First-time buyer Niroojan (32) and second-time buyer Jathurshika (30), a Physician Associate and Clinical Lecturer, were looking for their first home together after tying the knot in 2022. They were after somewhere with balance; commutable distance to work but in a community-led town in touching distance of nature. For them, their perfect home was found at Brentwood Acres in Brentwood - a two-bed mid-terrace house with a garden and two parking spaces for £499,000. 

Having lived with parents for a number of years in order to save for their first home, Senior Biomedical Scientist Niroojan managed to accrue £90,000 to put down for their deposit. Niroojan said: “Living with parents was a huge help to me and I’d have had to have waited a lot longer to get on the ladder without their help – they also helped us with a contribution to the deposit.”

Jathurshika added: “We were really fortunate to have help from my husband’s parents, as well as a £3,850 contribution towards flooring from Fairview. This all helped us find our dream home and our first together as a married couple."

“We were looking for somewhere conveniently located, close to our families, amenities and within a commutable distance to work and Brentwood Acres ticked all those boxes. We’re new to the area and have settled in well; It’s a great mix of countryside and town living with good transport links close by like the Elizabeth line into London from Brentwood Station. It takes me just under 40 minutes to get into Liverpool Street and to work."

When not at work or visiting family, Niroojan and his wife are able to enjoy the tranquillity and community-feel that Brentwood Areas and Brentwood offers, with a network of like-minded neighbours and an on-site park to enjoy altogether.
